What’s the first word that comes to mind when you hear vegan bags? —exactly, ethical! No animals were harmed during the process of creating these accessories because they’re cruelty-free.
Vegan bags are basically faux leather made with plastic materials like PVC (polyvinyl chloride) or PU (polyurethane). Some brands choose PU leather as it is composed of biodegradable resources like cotton, paper, and recycled rubber—all of which are less damaging to the environment than PVC fabrics.

Since this ethical trend is currently a fad and a good sustainable practice, fashion industries are upping their game by being more innovative with their products
For example, Chaleur, AVA’s newest accessory brand, uses PU leather for their products and eco-friendly materials for their packaging.
“We wanted to be eco-friendly. We felt that we should bring attention to the quality and versatility of our bags, while [they’re] less harmful to the environment,” says Jillian Tang of Chaleur.

The brand owners of Chaleur also think that there’s currently a high demand for vegan bags. Even popular designers like Stella McCartney are doing vegan leather in their collections.
Every brand has its own way of standing out, but with Chaleur, it’s more than that. Every purchase of Chaleur bags entails your support to ethical and sustainable fashion.
